- FESTIVALS:
There are many festivals throughout the year bringing together local entertainment, culture, activity, drama and sports.
- ENTERTAINMENT: With many traditional pubs, night clubs and hotels offering music, and the many restaurants and bistros in this area offering a choice of cuisine you will be spoiled for choice.
- SCENIC DRIVE: There are so many to choose from that it is impossible to list them all, coastal, inland, forestry, we have them all. A visit to the ‘Silent Valley Reservoir’ is a must.
- GOLF:
The area has a choice from 9 to 18 hole golf courses, an 18 hole, PAR 67 course is only a few minutes walk away from the Lodge. Golf coaching can be arranged for all levels.
- FISHING:
This area offers the angling visitor a choice in coarse, game or sea fishing. Trout farms are also nearby where you can enjoy a leisurely days fishing.
- HORSE RIDING:
There is a choice of riding schools in the area. You can enjoy trekking along this areas beautiful lanes or forest trails as well as cross-country treks.
- HILL WALKING:
No better place to enjoy hill-walking than the Mourne Mountains. You will have a choice from many designated walking routes. There are also many level walks along coastal paths.
- CYCLING:
Hire a cycle and off you go. You may wish to use one of the marked routes such as the ‘Poet’s trail’, the ‘Rostrevor route’ or the ‘Newry Canal Way’.
- KARTING:
You will be welcomed at Formula Karting on the outskirts of Newry, home of the biggest indoor karting track in Europe. Their purpose Built indoor kart racing circuits has almost 1km of karting track on 3 Levels.
- SHOPPING:
Shop to you drop at the local shopping centres, boutiques and markets in Newry city or visit any of the surrounding towns and villages or even cross the border for a days shopping in Dundalk.
- SWIMMING:
Enjoy a swim in the sea at the many coastal towns or visit Newry Swimming Pool that has a full sized 25m pool and a separate learner’s pool and you can also enjoy a visit to the Sauna or Steam room.
- PAINTBALLING:
For anyone with a lot of energy to burn this is the ideal sport. Paintballing in Northern Ireland is strictly for over 16yr olds, anyone who may look younger may need proof of age. |
